We have spent the past few weeks getting our routines and procedures in place and reviewing last year's learings. Things will pick up considerably now.
This week will be the first notebook check. A large portion of the grade from this class comes from participating in the workshop, and the evidence of that participation is the work done in the notebook. While each notebook will be slightly different based on what books the student may have read and when he or she read the book, the contents of each notebook will contain certain non-negiotiables. The students are responsible for taking notes in class and then summarizing their notes later the same day. I keep a notebook along with the students since I don't ask them to do anything I don't
