Reading and writing workshop gives each child the opportunity to work at their own level, to challenge themselves, and to exceed their own expectations!
Parents, please help your child become a more successful reader and writer by monitoring the time they spend reading and writing at home.
In our workshops, the students gain the skills (tools) they need, but they must practice what they learn to become better and stronger readers and writers.
Homework: Students are to read a minimum of 35 minutes each night from their self-selected trade book. They write about their reading by stopping to reflect on what they have read.
Each child, if they are reading a just right book, should finish a book every week to two weeks!
